Accountability
Accountability is a topic that I often put a lot of thought into as of why more people do not hold themselves accountable when they hurt others in some way, shape, or form. Accountability is something that so many people have issues with not only holding themselves accountable in life situations but also on being able to distinguish when they are needing to take responsibility for a certain thing or when they need to really reflect and see themselves in a realistic logical light.
Accountability is taking the initiative to really go within to understand why something is the way that it is. That something could be your attitude, or something that you said to another person, something that was done to another person, etc that causes the opposite party to have some sort of a hurt feeling. Not apologizing for your actions or being willing to compromise or agree to disagree when having disagreements are examples of a person who does not embrace accountability.
To be quite honest accountability can be one of the hardest things to do in life. Especially when you feel that you are the party that is in the "right" and the opposing party is in the "wrong" this is often times where accountability gets lost. I personally feel like more people would hold themselves accountable if they felt that they were the one in the wrong but due to personal preferences and opinions they feel like they would not need to apologize because they were the one that was wronged.
Looking at accountability in this perspective and really breaking down the why it happens and why it is not embraced we all are able to really overstand why it is not catered to more in all of our real life personal situations. It all comes down to a a difference of opinion and both parties feeling like they are the one that is justified in their actions or feelings.
