~Why Do We Burn Sage ~

A few people have asked me what is sage and why do people use it well sage is awesome in my opinion and you are able to get many different uses out of sage it just depends on what you need it for. Some people use sage for health reasons, some people use it on their foods, some people use it to burn in their religious or spiritual ceremonies or in their house for good energy and getting rid of negative energy that is around them. Sage is known for its cleansing and medicinal purposes and has been used for centuries all over the world.

I am a sage burner and I burn sage in the house on the weekends and I do this consistently because I bless my house and I always want to make sure that the energy is positive and clear. I want to always have a clear and focused mind state and this is the reason for the burning of the sage for me. I have heard that sage is also good for asthma which is a plus for me because I am asthmatic as well as my son. Burning sage is also called "smudging" and many people smudge their pets their homes, their family members, their workplace, etc . Sage has always been known to symbolize positive energy so that is the goal for burning it to get a better outcome of whatever it is you are needing to manifest for you or the person whom you are smudging.

When I am feeling like my head is cloudy and overwhelmed with thoughts I burn sage to clear my mind while I am meditating and visualizing because it does wonders for clearing and focus. As I am burning I make sure to speak my purpose of why I am burning it because that is important to speak what you want into existence. I feel it is important to have your own special way in which you go about doing your sage routine. For me I have my own special routine that I do when I sage my home and I will share this with you all to give you an idea of how to go about doing so if you are interested in buying sage and burning it in your home or workplace but are unsure of how to go about doing so:

• Speak the reason for why you are about to burn your sage 
• Light your sage and walk around each room while speaking and making your request of what it is you want to bring forth from the positive energy you are requiring 
• After you have smudged all rooms sit the sage down and let it continue to burn 
• Meditate and Visualize while your sage is burning 

Sage will burn out and you are all done :)
