~Social Workers Rock~

Social workers of the world you ROCK! I admire you because you want to provide change for families and you take your job to heart by going that extra mile and making sure your clients are cared for in the best way possible. If you are in a profession to help people I salute you not just in social work but in any area where you feel like you want to make a difference. I would love to become a social worker and will complete my schooling next spring. This is my fourth time in school and although I am way past burnout I must say me and school we have a love hate relationship :)

School is where I can interact with my teacher and my classmates and learn about so many different topics of information. I am really enjoying my class that I am in right now because this is the first class where I am really diving deeper into family and children and the role of a social worker. I am excited to learn about all of the information and resources there is to help people and I really love that I am one of two people who are in my class. Yep you heard right there is a total of two people in my class and at first I thought it would be awkward because I am use to a class full of students but I love it and have no complaints. My teacher is awesome she gives us so much information about social work because she is a social worker herself.

I am able to get that extra attention from my teacher and ask her many questions because I am a human questionnaire and I love to ask questions and gain understanding. From researching on different blogs and getting feedback on the profession I see that many people have a hard time after graduating trying to find a place that will hire them due to having no experience. I must admit that thought crossed my mind as well looking through job profiles and reading the requirements and with most of the details they are looking for qualified workers.

I have read that many people are not using their degree due to not finding a company that will give them a chance. For everyone who is feeling discouraged I just want to say do not give up! Research and find out what you will need to get to where you want to go. Have patience and remember why you put in all of that hard work in college. Volunteer or get your foot in the door another way and try to gain experience on your journey to social work. If anyone out there has any advice to the future social workers of the world or would like to share your experience please feel free to comment.
