~Hurt People Sometimes Hurt People ~

It is so easy to point fingers and judge but it is hard to really stop and think and put yourself in another persons shoes and try to figure out why they do the things that they do. Over the years as social media has gotten more and more popular I have seen the increase of attacks on many different people. I have been the attacker and the attackee (I don't think that is a word but hey we will go with it) I will keep it quite honest with you. I have not always used restraint when a person has come to attack me with words and I am not proud of that but it is a reaction that myself and others take when they feel offended by another person.

I have seen stories of social media attacks on the news where some children have committed suicide behind it and this is so sad to me. Before getting online and logging in to social media was popular we had bullying that was done in the physical form through words and actions whether that being at school or at a job or any other public function where there was people. Confrontation is a part of life and this is something I feel we all will go through at different times in our life. As I have grown older I now understand people better. I think taking Psychology in school has helped me to gain a better understanding of people and to not judge people and what they do so much.

You never know what a person is going through in life and why they behave in the way they do. I do truly believe that hurt people will whether they mean to or not hurt other people. There are people who have gone through things in their life especially in their childhood that they have not healed from. Their actions are a reflection of the things they need to heal from or confront. Attacking others is a redirection of pain from not dealing with their own personal issues. I am not by any means making excuses for bullying or people who are not the nicest to deal with in life but I will say that before I assume or attack them back I have started to really think about why they are the way they are.

I feel the world would be so much better if we all looked at each other with understanding instead of judgement. It is easy to attack or make jokes of people who we see acting out in public or on a news story. We do not know what these people have went through in life and why they feel the need to do the things they are doing. I see and hear it all the time with children. You see children out with their parents and they are acting out and having tantrums of some sort and the parent is not able to control the child. The first thing some onlookers do is choose to mock the parent and the child without understanding what the background is and if the child has a mental disability and is acting out because of that reason.

There is so much I could say on this subject but I will keep this short and just say that understanding before judging goes a long way.
